5-hectare area
The SEA GARDEN project is based on utilizing a 5-hectare area offshore to establish a multi-interactive marine farm with a microbiotic system
SeaGarden
An innovative project by a startup named SEA GARDEN based in Algiers Province, specialized in the AQUA-TECH field — the cultivation of marine plants and organisms such as shellfish (oysters and mussels), marine algae (green and red algae), and echinoderms (sea cucumbers and sea urchins). The project operates under a BIO concept and uses an innovative, integrated, and sustainable technology — introduced for the first time in Algeria — known as the Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) system. Its goal is to create added value and produce multiple products within the same environment. The SEA GARDEN project aims to utilize a 5-hectare area offshore to establish a unique multi-interactive microbiome marine farm in Algiers Province. It will use Mardous technology basins and coastal ponds to cultivate various marine species in floating cages in seawater. The project will enable annual production of specialized units for breeding different marine species (shellfish and algae) with a capacity of 60 tons per year, following an integrated and sustainable eco-friendly feeding system. It is designed to have strong economic profitability at both the national and international levels, offering highly demanded products with easy marketing and processing potential.
